TUBB® 6XC PLUS Seating Die
Переглядів 4,3 тис.4 роки тому
David Tubb discusses his newest die called the TUBB® 6XC PLUS Seating Die. After having offered a modified Redding die to seat the 6XC bullet to attain better bullet concentricity since around 2005, I discovered that the modified Redding seater would also yield better runout with a host of other calibers. The new 6XC PLUS seating die is the culmination of multiple caliber and bullet seating con...

TUBBDUST
Переглядів 2,8 тис.5 років тому
I started using TUBBDUST in 2015. Most of my testing was done with the 6XC cartridge shooting 115gr DTAC bullets at 3150 fps to 3225 fps. High pressure and velocity equate to copper fouling appearing toward the muzzle and the 6XC when fired at these velocities would have some copper streaks. In 2016, I enlisted several other shooters/reloaders whom I had interaction with to begin a Beta test us...

hornady copy much? David Tubb you are hero to me. 🎉
How does a flat wire spring compare to a braided wire spring
Wow!
Dave and his company are awesome
How do you feel about Wolf Springs??
that magnetospeed has got to shake like hell when you fire.
Looks great.
I’ve been told not to use the FF kit in a hand lapped barrel, but the TMS bullets occasionally for maintenance is ok.
i have a brarrett mrad in 338lm and 308 win. looking to step up to the 37xc. i know a lot of shooters will use a 36 in + barrel. can i go shorter say 30 inches and still get good velocities? i think any of the change barrel platforms are great for this cartridge.[ mrad, AI, Desert tech]. purpose built guns in 37 cal may only get a few shots a year .
Dope
The chamber is sloppy like that so the rifle can shoot most all brands of ammo. Despite brass thickness. Into the precision world, we don't want that. We want tighter tolerances
lol as if its common that we would have a freezer which our gun will fit into
I know right. Maybe just freeze the lower?
good try pitch man.
Have you considered Tungsten Disulfide?
Greetings from South Africa. Do you distribute here.
I need a bigger freezer.
What brand buffer spring is this
Anyone can tell me how many hbn and alcol ? Tks a lot
✌️👍‼️
What barrels do you recommend now David? I remember for the Tubb 2000 you were using Schneider's. *side note* You need a garage or man-cave for the Sweets. Strong ammonia smell in the house is a major no no if you want a peaceful rest of the day with your GF or spouse.
How does it perform in gel or flesh though? Have you guys seen consistent expansion in your testing at those distances?
Not familiar with the scar? It's the same functions as any AR-15. You just got nervous on camera
Could you use this ins wet tumbler, minus water and stainless media?
Is it possible to associate the markings with an angle? Angle is necessary if using the reticle to range the target because the target will be slanted when looking at it from an angle and a cosine needs to be applied both to the distance but also to the height of the target. This allows to take into consideration that the target looks shorter or compressed because we are looking at it from up or down. Thank you.
Doesn't the shorter compressed flat wire spring risk the back of the BCG gas key crashing into the front edge of the buffer tube when it moves rearwards during cycling? When the BCG is pressed all the way rearwards as far as it can go, there should be about 3.5mm between the back of the gas key and the front of the buffer tube. From the example shown, it looks like the flat wire spring is significantly shorter in a compressed state, well beyond 3.5mm shorter relative to the traditional buffer spring.
You are missing the point here, the spring is never going to hit the full compression shown on those pinned buffers. The idea is with the wider spacing between the coils, the flat-wire spring _doesn't_ bottom out like the round spring, thus meaning it slows the dwell time of the carrier unlocking, and reduces the "bounce" when re-locking on the next round. This in turn increases the lifespan of the spring, and also _reduces_ failures such as gas-key impact, because the tension is more consistant throughout the stroke of the entire BCG movement. That's why the recoil impulse is reduced as well, instead of it bottoming out and the excess momentum hitting your shoulder, the slowed momentum feels more like a gentle "push" than a "punch", so to speak.
But your not actually measuring the base diameter your up the web slightly .
Awsome
David, would it be possible to tap the top ports and make it adjustable? On testing I’ve done, upwards gas venting can greatly change barrel whip.
I seen something like these 25 years ago at the Puyallup Washington gun show. They were different colors depending on grit.
Mr. Tubb, I visited the website, Superior Shooting Systems, to buy some of your AR magazine flat springs but received a warning from my search engine that your website has an unencrypted connection that will allow 3rd party tracking of my activity and would allow hackers to gather or steal my transaction information. Anywhere else that I could possibly buy some of your flatsprings?
I just buy Boron Nitride (BR) mold release powder off ETSY for $9.95 and put 150 bullets in a small plastic water container with a wide mouth lid and and half a teaspoon BR and vibrate the jar in my brass vibrator for 2 hours. Done!
After shooting a 300 PRC for 6 months in KO2M I bit the bullet and drank the coolaid and built a 33XC.. See you in March at a match David & Christy.
Unreal!
Would you please advise approximately how many 50 BMG 750 grain rounds would your product coat? Thanks in advance
I got a 6XC II reamed a couple of years ago, I wasn't happy as using standard 6XC dies you over work the case head too much and need ALOT of force, i ended up using a seperate body then shoulder bump die which is annoying for the extra steps. If you want a 6XC II chamber you really should first get 6XC II dies! 6XC II is not a newer version 2 of 6XC, its a different dimension case chamber! Its a catchy but misleading name!
The USA Military should adopot this riflle with all its advantages and cartridiges.
Genius
Fantastic!!! 😺
When might these be available again?
Installing them today!
Any issues with the sharper edges of the flatwire catching the mag interior?
David is a legend for sure.
Need more votes like this
So if the system comes with a bayonet, would you end up with 2 bayonets because one comes with the Magnetospeed? Or can you just buy the V3 without a bayonet? Just started looking into getting some sort of chronograph so I'm not familiar with them all.
It's a shame that the M98 pin has been discontinued.
will these work with the hexmag or pmag 308 magazines
<-------- just got mine today gonna tune her tomorrow thank you!!!!!
Hello Mr. Tubb I have just learned about the cartridge you designed, I’m going to have it chambered in an Encore pistol. Is a 1:7 twist too fast? Thanks hope you reply
Thanks Mr Tubb.I was on the fence about 6XC and 6mmARC.Mainly because I already shoot the 6mm ARC in my AR and like it.But Im going with 6xc for my bolt gun.Have a good day.
